Gate 58 - The Joyous - The Gate of Vitality

A love for life, a zest for the beauty life has to give in each moment. You have pressure to correct anything keeping the collective away from wellbeing and health. The pressure comes from the need to satisfy a driving desire to contribute something of value. This is logical energy, and for you to see what needs to be done, changed, and torn down, is logical. Pressing up towards the spleen to gate 18, the gate of correction.

When lacking gate 18, you might feel pressured to serve with your correction. But it might be hard for you to see what improvements need to be made. You sense that there is something in the way of vitality and a pressure to change it but don't know what improvements need to be made. Pushing too hard to find out what needs to be corrected, thinking you are correcting to achieve joy. Still, people can be driven away by this energy if you are unaware of how this energy plays out.

The reactive nature of being dissatisfied with life, others, and whatever is happening around you can take its toll if you are unaware of how it is playing out. The pressure to challenge the patterns you find off in society or the authority behind it is real.

It's up to you to find a gate 18 that can help you channel this pressure and/or find ways to notice when you want to correct something outside of you and take a few deep breaths.

Maybe remove yourself from the situation. Perhaps you find a safe place where you can externalize all the things you want to correct during the day. Someday someone will ask you what you would do, and I bet they will be happy to hear what you say. You can be that catalyst that moves people from talking about it to doing something about it... The timing for them to listen to it has to be correct.

Notice when you are falling victim to the notion that there is something you can do to bring about happiness. That false promise makes for a "great" marketing strategy.

I don't have a personal experience with this gate, but I observe it from afar from an artist I "kinda-sorta" know. She has a true zest for life, naturally attractive in her being, and her presence is always joyful to be around.

The pressure to highlight beauty and appreciation for life lives in this gate. So if you have this gate hanging, look at the beauty of your life. Focusing on the understanding that happiness is found in the moment, wherever it is, your strategy and authority have led you. Wherever you are in life. You have a natural zest for living, and that is inspiring for others.

You can choose to focus this energy on your life, your natural inner beauty, and your joyful way of being, thanks to this gate. Others can love to be around your youthful expression; just beware of not correcting others or yourself; that's not where the joy is found.

Remember, you bring aliveness to the collective when the pressure from your root is on.
